Im going to be totally honest with you as to what I am after you will know if you fit this job I am looking for a new Manager for an established cocktail bar and venue in Buckingham. The town is small circa 15k people so be aware it is not a city centre job. However it does have a rapidly expanding private University (University of Buckingham) so a large part of this job is to maintain a relationship and develop the relationship with the University and the students. This can be done by whatever means are necessary. The bar currently does a healthy turnover (approx 10k rising in summer) but as ever there is always room for improvement particularly midweek. We trade from 5pm every day so if you like your lie-ins this is probably the right place There is a function room a huge garden and terrace 2 main bars and planning is currently in for an external bar so you need to be organised and on your toes. The trade is currently a real mix with a large selection of super premium customers as well as accommodating the more regular weekend drinkers. This is an experimental venue where you can let your ideas run wild and get throughly stuck in and savour the challenge. It is privately owned and the owner is happy to leave the Manager alone to stamp their mark and push the business as they see fit. We currently employ around 15 staff and they will be entirely your responsiblility as will ordering stock control cash promotions bookings advertising cleaning etc etc etc. Basically you will run the day to day business as your own. You must be able to build relationships quickly and be comfortable around the type of clientele described and in the environment described. It is a fun place to work and so long as the place looks good to open is closed properly and its run well you will be given all the freedom you could possibly need It is a multi occupancy residential venue so there is the opportunity to live in if required.
